Last year when visiting the guys trying to sell massage and more were kept out of Pub Street. This year they were all over the place and got very annoying trying to sell massage services. This is a shame as it does not show Siem Reap in a good light and makes the place more like a brothel than a pleasant place for an evening out drinking and eating. There are now so may massage parlours much as in Pattaya.
I agree. I ignore any of that sort of thing and certainly don't let it impact on my holiday. Same with the milk powder scam. I don't even make eye contact with people carting drugged babies around. I suppose the point of the post, was to allow the poster to put on record his dislike of the pimps being allowed into pub street. They usually don't approach me, being female helps and if Baldric is with me, as a couple, usually not approached again. But if Baldric is on his own he is offered quite a range of services.
I agree it may be annoying or impacts a visit to Pub Street but the same can be said for the tuk tuk touts, begging, scams too I was more shocked by the 8 year old quite eloquently telling me to go away by using the F word! Though i doubt it will head down the Pattaya or Bangalore Road path.
Touts are common all around Asia and it didn't really bother me too much. They are just trying to make a living. None of it affects me negatively! I'm just reminded how fortunate I am to come from a privileged environment where crime and cheap hustles are more choice than necessity. This post has been removed at the author's request.

I probably would have stepped in and made a bit of a fuss, sometimes embarrassing these morons can deter them somewhat and checking if the girl is ok As I mentioned in the Vietnam forum, you seem to be having bad experiences follow you?
