Recently, at the Paradisus Rio de Oro , which is an adults only resort, and a resort that I've visited before, families with children were allowed to stay. It seems that this was a " situation " that the staff at the resort had no power to control.
However, it was allowed to happen not for the first time, and probably not for the last time. Some guests were barred by security from using some of the facilities while the family was there.
When going to this type of resort, premium money is being paid by the guests for an adult only experience. Some were very upset. Should this practice be allowed? How can it be allowed to happen? When it happened before, I think that it was children of some "official", it could possibly happen again, and the only way to avoid it might be to not go there. I feel your frustration. Happened to us a few years back and yes HfxJohn you are correct. It was a Mgr of another out of country Melia resort and his family staying.
Its not right but little can be done except voice your opinion to the Mgr as we did. Or go somewhere else. I agree you pay top dollar for this place expecting no children, so there should be no children except when I hardly think one or two children of a visiting manager is going to spoil an "Adults Only" experience.
Were there a dozen children screaming and splashing in the pool? Then yes, I'd be upset. Were they just "there". If so, who cares. It's not like it's Hedonism and it would cramp your activities. And what happens when you feel you have to leave other areas because of screaming kids?
